The Supreme Court has been around for centuries of years. There have been many cases and trials throughout the years. When we watch or hear the news, we catch a glimpse of what is going on inside the government. There have been just over a hundred judges in the US, serving around sixteen years. This is just an average number of years, some justices serve up to life!
Before you become a judge, you must go through a process. Along the way, they must go through the SCOTUS. Consisting of only nine justices, anyone wanting or looking to become a judge must have a background check.
As interviewed, a few government officials have said that they do not get adjusted right away. It takes many years to really settle in and relax into your job.
We are still using a document that is over 200 years old! Using the same ideology in what we do in today's world. The original justices were first housed in the Capital. In 1801, they were then moved to Washington, where they are permanently housed.
